Sitka took right to this device. You could actually see her ears come up and
start to transform into a happy horse once again
Sitka is able to lay down while wearing the device and her foal Sunday is able
to nurse while Sitka was standing. Sunday had learned to nurse while his mother
was laying down so now he can eat whenever he wants or she wants to let him.

Sitka lives at Shiloh Horse Rescue .and is suffering with an old hoof injury that has resulted in severe bone deterioration and her hoof bending permanently backwards. This injury made her want to lay down most of the time as just the basics of walking for water or hay made her very uncomfortable. They were very close to deciding to have her euthanized when we were contacted. Carol, an Animal Control Officer, wrote Ronnie and explained the problem and asked if he could do something to help. Ronnie flew out to Las Vegas after having consulted with Jill Curtis, and took a cast of both Sitka and Belmont. This was the 8th of November. A brand new "Magic Leg" , as Shiloh so named it, was applied the 13the of December and now Sika can walk comfortably. She will have to get accustomed now to staying up on her feet longer periods but she took right to wearing the device. She even tried to keep full weight on it so that Jill and Sally couldn't take it off but they finally won and removed it for awhile.
