Tyson at the Lazy RT Ranch

Tyson suffered a neurological injury to his left shoulder while frolicking in the pasture with another colt. This injury left him with the inability to extend and lock his leg to support himself. His leg would buckle with every step and cause him to hop on his right leg. This was creating an undo strain onto his good side and putting stress on his system. Dr. Douglas Davenport DVM called us in on a Saturday afternoon to evaluate Tyson. A cast was taken, modified and a laminated leg brace made overnight. As a temporary support was needed, we put a plaster cast on Tyson to hold him for the night. This supported him until we could return with a proper fit device.

Tyson wore the brace for ten days. His owners were able to remove the brace daily and change his stocking and look for abrasions. He was able to totally support himself without the use of the brace after the ten days.
